Welcome to my awesomeness website!
 

Ever since I could remember, I was very passionate about art. I still vividly remember staying up late to work on drawings for the county fair. When I was awarded ribbons, I felt so proud that I was winning at something that I enjoyed doing. The passion for design along with the ambition to create has continued to burn brightly into adulthood. Today, I am a creative service manager for the University of Houston-Victoria, where I take a leadership role into the design and production of numerous university publications and marketing materials. Being a manager has made me a better communicator, listener, and team player.

 

I’ve also started a freelance design business from scratch and developed respected relationships with several clients. As you’ll see in my portfolio, I take great pride in my design work and representing the university and my clients. My enthusiasm for learning is as strong as ever, so the next step for me is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts with the end goal of becoming a professor. Fun facts about me!


While working at Cracker Barrel back in the day, I received an award for being “Beamer” of the year!
A Beamer is someone whose personality really shines.


I once saved a puppy from getting hit by a car! I took him home and named him Baby Ivan.


In high school, I was 1 of only 5 in our whole district to advance to state for my drawings in art class.

In college for graphic design, I was voted in for President of our Graphic Design Association for two years in a row!


In my video and editing class in college, I was dressed as a ninja in a short film about saving the last potato chip!


In my spare time, I like to create music on my computer!  I plan to sell my music on iTunes soon so be on the lookout! my debut album is titled "Mettamorphus.”

  • Oversee the design and production of university publications, collateral materials, direct mail, and recruitment marketing materials
     

  • Manage graphic designers by overseeing their workflow, delegating projects, approving all created material to ensure we are following our university brand and style guide
     

  • Meet with departments, listen to their project needs, specifications and translate their requests into designs or campaigns

  • Provide creative solutions for marketing and branding initiatives in support of university objectives
     

  • Setup photoshoots with a professional photographer. Oversee and give direction to the photographer on all photos taken to ensure photos meet university quality and standards
     

  • Approve all marketing materials coming from other departments, including ads, web pages, digital signs, graphics and logos to check for quality and staying consistent with our university brand
     

  • Interact with a wide variety of commercial print vendors to secure bids and negotiate prices

  • Developed a quarterly campaign for “The Children’s Collections” that consist of a large size banner, flyer, poster, Facebook marketing, and website graphics
     

  • Designed E-Flyers that were emailed to varies people across the church or public
     

  • Edited images to ensure the highest quality by color correcting photos and saving them in their proper format so that they can be used for print and websites
